Happy Summer. Is it summer yet? In Raleigh it is. We have had some hot days for the last week or so. But it's a perfect time to enjoy the pool. We went to our friends place a few weeks ago and had a quick dip in their pool with Nathan for the first few times. He did not like it. But fortunately (for him) the water at our pool is much like bath water and Nathan got used to it rather quickly when we went for another dip yesterday. He was super cute in his orange bathing suit and summer hat - all matchy matchy with his daddy. We didn't bring the camera last time but we will next time b/c he's so darn adorable.
Yesterday we went to friends Amy and Dan's place for a hotdog party. Leo's Dream! Nathan was popular in his little Hawaiian-like shirt that will barely fit him soon. The kid is growing so fast even his 3-month onesies are getting tight because he is so long. But no worries - we are using all of his clothes almost in one day. . .
Nathan has suceeded in expelling all sorts of fun liquids from his body today. An explosion on the couch (boppy included) from the back end, and another volcano all over the next outfit (the couch and mommy) from the font end. Good thing it's Sunday and I have nothing to do other than clean stuff!
Nate is cooing, gurgling and talking his own language and we are having fun cooing right back. He enjoys facing forward more often and even laying on his back looking up and out at the world. And he is sleeping more at night - six hour stretches! Not much else to report other than we are falling in love with him more and more everyday as he continues to bring us more joy than we could have imagined!
We are planning our next trip up to NY in July. Should be fun times at the family wedding we will all be at and an additonal few days Leo and I have just started to discuss. We are thinking since Nate is still so portable and relatively easy to handle (compared to when he is mobile and in a real schedule) we should enjoy the freedom of going to visit some places. We are thinking of heading up to MA to visit with friends and family for a few days. We're unsure of exactly when, where, what and who just yet but we are excited to have our first little family vacation just hanging around in New England. I know Nathan won't remember it but we will have fun being together anyway!
